Data notes
How we label, date and qualify the evidence behind a market frame.
Data is a claim with a lineage
A number is not self-explanatory. Our notes retain who published it, what was measured, when it was observed, when it was released and whether it may later be revised. Screenshots and vendor labels are secondary to a stable source document wherever one exists.
Reference hierarchy
| Evidence type | Preferred origin | Checks retained |
|---|---|---|
| Price and quote | Venue or recognised data publisher | Timestamp, currency, bid/offer versus last trade |
| Index value | Index administrator | Variant, weighting, net/gross return treatment |
| Company fact | Issuer filing or regulated announcement | Period, accounting basis, restatement |
| Irish statistic | CSO or other official producer | Seasonal adjustment, revision, population |
| Euro-area statistic | Eurostat, ECB or official producer | Geography, release vintage, harmonisation |
| Contract term | Venue, clearing house or issuer document | Expiry, multiplier, settlement, jurisdiction |
Dates and vintages
Observation date and publication date are different fields. For revised economic series we aim to preserve the vintage used in the original analysis, because a later download can make a historical interpretation appear more informed than it was.
Currency and units
EUR examples improve readability for Ireland but do not remove currency exposure. We preserve nominal/real, percentage/percentage-point, annualised/period and thousands/millions distinctions.
Known limits
Free public data may be delayed or incomplete. MarketFrame Insights does not claim a live consolidated feed. Readers should verify time-sensitive values with the relevant primary source.
